Are you a multimedia/multimodal ethnographer, artist, or practitioner? Do you make or curate films, photography, music, audiovisual pieces, or other nonwritten forms of ethnographic content? Do you have a podcast brewing in the back of your mind?
During this time of uncertainty, we understand that many junior and precarious scholars are looking to gain publishing and editorial experience, grow their CVs, and find new venues and audiences for their work. With this in mind, Platypus, the official blog of the Committee for the Anthropology of Science, Technology, and Computing (CASTAC) is currently seeking a Multimodal Contributing Editor (MCE).
Those who are unable to apply at this time but are interesting in collaborating with Platypus will have an additional opportunity to join the editorial team in late November 2020.
The initial period for this position runs from June 2020 – June 2021 with the option to extend the position for another year. As CASTAC is an entirely volunteer run organization, at this time we are unable to offer compensation for this position.
- MCEs will create or curate a minimum of two multimedia/modal blog posts that engage with the anthropology of science and technology and/or STS.
- We are particularly interested in candidates whose interests align with the editorial vision of the blog.
Interested candidates should send 1) a CV, 2) a cover letter outlining research interests, related previous experience, and 3) at least one potential project to email@example.com by May 15, 2020. Candidates will be notified by May 22, 2020.
